What is Mead?
Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey and water. The meads pictured here are examples of traditional meads. Which are exactly that, honey and water. There are many types of meads and they can include many combinations of fruits, herbs, and spices. The possibilities are endless. Some other examples of meads are melomels, they are made by fermenting fruit and honey. Pyments are made by blending grapes and honey. An Acerglyn is a mead made with maple syrup and honey. Metheglin is a mead made with herbs or spices. All of these meads can have a wide range of alcohol content and can range from dry to sweet.
